Assistant Needed for Giant Hogweed New York Hotline

DEC Forest Health and Protection is hiring a giant hogweed hotline assistant to work from May 14 to August 31 out of the New Paltz DEC office. Giant hogweed is a non-native invasive plant with sap capable of causing injury to humans. The hotline assistant will provide information to the public about giant hogweed identification and control methods, view plant photos to verify new giant hogweed sites, and control 24 southeastern NY sites using a root-cutting control method. Last year our hotline received 1,976 calls and 861 emails. More information about giant hogweed can be found HERE.
